Lessons I Learned From How To Stop Worrying And Start Living

Dale Carnegie wrote many books on self-improvement, self-help, and public speaking. How to Stop worrying and Start Living is one of my favorite book. I read this book when I was so stressed about my life and future. Though this book didn’t magically change my life or cure my stressed problem instantly. It did give some good lessons and techniques to work on. So I can improve and stop worrying about trivial things. Here In this article, I will shares some of those lessons.

  • Analyzing Worry

When you face problems rather than instantly worrying about them. Think about it and ask or write an answer to questions like this.

a. What is the problem?

b. What is the cause of the problem?

c. What are all possible solutions?

d. What is the best solution?

After answering these types of questions think about it. If there are feasible solutions for it. Then act on it. If it’s inevitable then there is not enough you can do about it so let it be? Focus on something else you can do.

  • Just For Today

Why worry about a thing which will happen in a few years or months. Instead of worrying about a problem that will happen o in a few years or months. Let’s focus on today. What we can do is just live in the present moment. Just for today, I will be happy. Just for today, I will think about all the positive thoughts.

Just for today, we will not worry about the future. Just for today, I will adjust to whatever situations I am in and I won’t feel bad about them. Just for today I will exercise and go on a walk and do something useful today. Just for today I will smile and talk nicely with everyone. Just for today, I will enjoy whatever work I have to do. Just for today I will take bath, dress good and go outdoors to enjoy.

  • Have The Mental Attitude That Will Bring You Peace and Happiness.

As Abraham Lincoln said,

“Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.”

External factors do affect our life and happiness but it’s up to us how we face those situations. Let’s not waste a single minute on things we don’t like. Think about stuff you enjoy and want to achieve. Let’s remember that to find happiness is not to expect gratitude, but to give for the joy of giving. Be grateful for whatever the world has to offer and have the courage to do anything. So when life gives you lemons, you will be prepared to make them into lemonades.

  • Taking Rest or Break to Prevent Fatigue and Worry.

Whenever you feel fatigued or stress takes a break and rest. Learn to relax at your workplace. You should organize your work and do work in order of their importance and priority. Remember that health is more important than money. So if you can’t solve some problem take a break, rest. Don’t exhaust yourself if you won’t be able to complete your work. Sleep is as much important as food and water to our body.
